Dolma, 17 is from Timal, Kavre district. She has a story behind to leave home. Dolma was studying grade 4 at her home school. Dolma family were living peacefully. Despite poverty, her parents send her school. Dolma’s father has two wife living separate. Her family consists of two younger brothers and two younger sisters from her mother side. She has two elder brothers from step mother side. They live in separate place. Her mother used to work in farm. Life was peaceful.
The onset of conflict in village closed school. She was deprived of going school. She spent about four months tending cattle. The security in village worsened. Because of fearful environment, her mother sent her Kathmandu to weave carpet to avoid catch.
Dolma spent about four months in carpet factory. At the beginning, she was very happy to come city. When her days and night spent weaving carpet continuously she got monotonous and bored. She was not allowed to go out and visit Kathmandu city. In the factory she developed chest pain and bleeding from nose. Dolma says –“ I did not have any money to care that. I became very sad and saw my life very dark. Such point of time, Good Weave inspector removed me on Dec 1, 2003 and brought to Good Weave rehabilitation centre.” She further says that – “meeting with Good Weave inspector was turn of my life. I never thought I would go school again.”
Dolma was very laborious student at centre. She was sent to Little Angel’s School for further education. She was one of the excellent student in school. Finally, she has passed SLC Examination in first division with 62.37%.
Dolma is shy and introvert in nature. She is very amicable among friends. She thanks Good Weave to have change her life. She aspires to be a social worker.
