NGF Transit Home ‘Hamro Ghar’, Center Based Rehabilitation Program, was started on 8th March 1997. The main objective of the center is to take care of the rescued children who could not be reunited immediately with their family due to various reasons. During the inspection and monitoring of Good Weave’s licensees carpet factories, if children below 18 years are found working in any of the processes at carpet factory then they are removed and sent to ‘Hamro Ghar’ for center based rehabilitation. The concept of rehabilitation was initiated to provide a homely environment to these children in absence of their natural homes & family and support the children to overcome the challenging experiences, restart their education and rebuilt their lives with the support of special team. Since it is a transit home, children stay there for maximum of three years until they are reintegrated with their biological family.
